Go to the shopWhen I was seven I got my hands on a Polaroid. A small gift from my godfather in America. The box said Columbous Ohio USA. My eyes were shining with happiness.
A few months later I was playing with the dozens of film strips my uncles sent me from Australia. They worked for the Kodak company in Melbourne for over 40 years.
Unbeknownst to me, the universe had given me a small sign of what my life would be like many years later.
Immigrant and Photographer.
I love both of these parts very much.
Photography for me is not about fancy cameras, tripods and expensive editing programs.
Photography is, less luggage in your backpack, your favorite poet crumpled and ready to be reread at any moment and a quote from the wonderful Yannis Behrakis head of the photography department of Reuters news agency in Greece who won the Pulitzer Prize in 2016: "A photograph can change the world, make it fairer"
